Wyoming consists of 130 hunting zones. You have options for pronghorn and antelope hunting in some of the best areas in the US. Hunters can choose to plan trips on BLM land, but check official regulations when planning your trip.

Wyoming Residents

A resident is a person who has lived in the state permanently for 90 days. All residents aged 12 or older must have a Base Hunting License and Conservation License.

Non-Residents

Non-residents over 12 must purchase the Base Hunting and Conservation Licenses when applying for or purchasing hunting licenses and permits.

Youth Hunting Licenses

Wyoming residents and non-residents aged 12 to 17 may purchase youth hunting licenses to hunt big game. Youths aged 12 to 17 can buy a reduced-fee hunting license. Residents and non-residents aged 10 to 17 are eligible for the Apprentice Youth Program.

Senior Hunting Licenses

Wyoming residents over 75 years that lived in Wyoming for a minimum of 50 continuous years are eligible for Pioneer Licenses. They don’t need to buy a Conservation Stamp.

Disability Licenses

Wyoming offers reduced-fee disabled hunting licenses for disabled individuals.

Veteran and Military Licenses

Active-duty military personnel stationed in Wyoming can buy a resident hunting license provided they’ve lived in the state for at least 90-days. Additionally, active-duty military personnel deployed to combat zones are eligible for a free licensee on leave. They don’t need to purchase the Conservation Stamp.

Resident veterans with 100% disability may be eligible for the free One Hundred Percent (100%) Disabled Veteran Bird, Fish, and Small Game License. They are not required to purchase the Conservation Stamp.

Migratory Waterfowl Requirements

Hunters aged 16 or older must buy a Montana Migratory Bird Permit and Federal Duck Stamp when hunting migratory waterfowl. The permit is proof of participation in the Harvest Information Program (HIP).

License Expiration

Montana hunting licenses are valid for one year from purchase. Permanent residents of the state are eligible for a lifetime hunting license.
